What does Handdy monitor on my computer?

Handdy does not monitor anything unless you login to the desktop timer.

Applications and URL tracking

After you login to the desktop timer – Handdy records whatever software applications or website URLs that are used by you and for how long. Reports on how much time was spent on these activities are available online to your administrator. Daily, weekly and monthly reports are available for company administrator to review and to improve workflow.

Keystroke activity

Handdy records how many keys were pressed. It does not track what keys were pressed. Daily, weekly and monthly reports are available for company administrator to review.

Why is Handdy free?

This gives you the opportunity to try the free version of our time tracking and attendance software. If you choose to upgrade to the premium version you can always do it at anytime.

For how long will Handdy be free?

The free version of Handdy is free for ever. You can upgrade to the paid premium version whenever you want to.

How do I subscribe to premium version?

After you login

  • Go to the my subscriptions tab
  • Select the number of people you want to give access to and pay for that number.
  • You will be automatically charged on a monthly basis.
  • You can add or remove the number of people any time.

How do I view what I am subscribed to?

Click on the dashboard link from the top right, under your name – you will go to the subscriptions screen. You can then view and upgrade the appropriate software.

Why is IP restriction necessary?

IP restriction on Handdy allows you to specify from which IP addresses a Handdy user can login from. We have enabled IP restriction feature to ensure that your employees do not access Handdy using a different network provider other than the one approved by you.

Is Handdy IP restriction feature secure?

Handdy IP restriction feature adds another layer of security to your company account and device. It limits the ability of your employees accessing Handdy using mobile data or other unauthorized network.

Is Handdy IP restriction feature suitable for work from home or remote employees?

The IP restriction feature is to prevent employees from accessing company device using a private network or their mobile data which could lead to data security issues.

Privacy and data security concerns for employees who use Handdy

Once employees understand how Handdy works and what information it collects, these concerns almost always disappear.

Handdy starts working only after a user login. Otherwise it does not do anything in a PC.

It helps employees manage their time better. It also helps managers and business owners to see how employee time is spent. The projects and tasks you track by using the desktop timer is also visible to your manager so that they can see which projects and tasks has been worked on. They also can view which websites and software applications you have worked on so that they can use this information to effectively run their team.

Handdy can only track your projects and tasks if you login to the desktop timer and click on the start button. Time tracking stops when you click on the stop button. If you logout of the desktop application, no activity will be recorded.

A company has the right to know what their employees are doing during work hour, that is paid for by the company. But they don’t have the right to know what you do after work hours.

Is my data safe? Yes your data is absolutely safe. All communication to our servers is secured by SSL encryption. We are hosted with Google where the data centers are very secure. So you can be assured that your data is safe.
